He COULD come up with a detailed, viable alternative, though. He hasn't even done that. All we've gotten is TrumpRX and what sounds like generic ideas spit out by AI.

The PBM didn't have the paperwork processed correctly as of yesterday so I'm waiting to hear from them and maybe it'll finally be correct at the pharmacy.

Did you need a prior authorization?

It’s only $400 if you order it straight from the manufacturer.

ETA: You can also check your insurance plan’s drug formulary and ask your doctor to switch you to their preferred option.

Nobody is shaming anyone, it's just that every single time the premise of "why" they are fat is just flat out wrong. If you eat in a caloric deficit, you WILL lose weight. This is not my opinion or "low information" in regards to how the human body processes food. Excess fat is created by the body not processing excess calories. That's literally all it is. People on these drugs would be far better off in the long run if they spend their money on a nutritionist and maybe a therapist. They really need to get down to the nuts and bolts of WHY they overeat in the first place. It's an act of self-harm and an inability to push through uncomfortable feelings.

Agreed.

Hell, studies have already shown nigh-conclusively that type 2 diabetes can be REVERSED through extreme intermittent fasting regimens.

It’s a CHOICE.

On a side note, BCBS started losing money at a rapid pace as the Glp-1's became more widely prescribed and they had to adjust their coverages and cost.

I’m not paying $400.00 a month for it, it’s not a miracle drug.

I lost 75 lbs in 18 months which is 1 lb a week, while walking, working out, zero alcohol, Zepbound and eating better.

I’ll move forward with my will
And faith before I spend a car note on a fat drug.

Nope, they got those transferred over from the previous PBM. The only thing I could think of is that I was enrolled in some kind of disease management program last year that brought the co-pays down. They never had one on file, but because I was diagnosed last year I was meeting with a diabetes educator and nutritionist so maybe somehow that applied the discount. I got re-enrolled in it this year and the discount is reflecting on the app, it just wasn't appearing in the PBM's system yet, for some reason

ETA to be clear, this is type 1 diabetes so my supplies are listed as disease management. I'm not sure how it would work for a type 2 trying to get a GLP-1, much less for someone taking them for weight loss

The fact most plans no longer cover these drugs says all you need to know about our health system.

Confusing because once you contact liviniti, they will instruct you to download the app which is LA blue cross' new PMB(no longer cvs caremark) to get bin number and group number then give that to your pharmacy and youll get your discounted type 1 meds and supplies. I do assume your a type 1?

What your getting is your old pmb(pharmacy management benefits) charging full price which cancelled 12/31.

My sister's husband went through this in La. and he went through the same thing. He is a type 1. He pays nothing for omnipod or dexcom. He does pay 25 a month for the insulin. I think he only gets insulin at pharmacy and gets supplies from an online place.

Noway your insurance is making you pay 2000. Not BCBS of La.

You info is incorrect. Weight loss place are charging around 2 to 300 a month for tirezeptide(zepbound) to lose weight w/ no insurance. Insurance wont cover you anyway unless your considered a type 2.

Semiglutide is even cheaper only about 100 for a month.

Zepbound pill has come out. Check into it.

That's exactly what I've been trying to explain to Liviniti and BCBS on the phone. I used to pay next to nothing for my stuff and suddenly their app was showing me the cash-pay price. The pharmacy ran my new insurance card, I downloaded the new app, and still no one could explain where this insane pricing was coming from. They kept insisting that I needed to hit $2000 out of pocket every year before BCBS pays a dime and I know that's not the case.

Like I said, I think I've gotten it figured out by signing up for a disease management program, but it took me a lot of time on the phone to get to that point

Thats weird. Maybe the plans are different. He is on my sister's insurance. She is a teacher. Their insurance i assume is pretty good.

FYI, if your getting novalog, change to the generic Aspart. Big difference in copay. Also if your on humalog, maybe insurance went high dollars for that and they want a script for novalog(get generic Aspart, its cheaper) and much cheaper.

Also maybe you have to change to a preferred pharmacy

im not your son and you need to call bcbs of la. and ask them who your pmb is and use their prefered pharmacy. Your pmb changed bro.

Are you a type 2 diabetic because if you aren't, insurance companies do not pay for glp-1 meds. You said your taking zepbound to lose weight. Insurance companies dont have a copay for people without type 2 diabetes. If you were, down 75lbs probably will not register an a1c that is considered type 2 anymore. You know below a 5.7 I think. Maybe you also need to have a new a1c done. Still confusing how your on a copay tbw if its just for weight loss.

Original Post Son:

I’ve been taking Zepbound for 18 months and it’s been working down 75 lbs.

With BC/BS Large Group my copay for three months was $27.00, but they stopped allowing it 1/1/2026.

I got the notification that my refill was ready today, there’s no freaking way to justify this bullshite.

WalmartRx - ZEPBOUND is now ready $3910.92
