Man, you’re right. I’m not intimating, nor stating, it’s some unprecedented action for an illegal, guilty of no other crime, to be deported.
What I am saying is there has never been an unregulated, armed, masked machine with no accountability whatsoever to be formed and sent into American cities to go after anyone they SUSPECT of being illegal. There have been over a dozen ICE shootings. American citizens are getting caught up in this shite, because some masked dude, WHO REFUSES TO IDENTIFY HIMSELF, thinks someone is an immigrant. They’re snagging people from courthouses, there working on becoming legal “the right way”.
Immigration enforcement is not unprecedented. This form of immigration enforcement is 150% unprecedented. It’s why people are so passionate about this. Hell, you see people on this board going off who barely ever post. Jackbooted, masked, armed thugs running around American cities throwing people into unmarked vehicles is pretty goddamn frightening to a lot of us. If you’re cool with it, so be it. But to pretend everyone should just shrug their shoulders is absurd.

I said it in another post earlier this week or whenever the frick it was…all runs together these days….but there’s a huge disconnect between what you see ICE doing and what I see ICE doing. It’s the nature of media today.
There are tons of videos of ICE ramming vehicles, throwing US citizens to the ground and arresting them, shooting projectiles directly into protestors at point blank range (including a clergyman who wasn’t even looking at them). They’re unqualified wanna be cops who lack training and have no business dealing with the general public.
I would imagine, in a more pro-Trump media landscape, the protestors are made out to be complete assholes while the ICE agents are portrayed as angels arresting rapists and murderers. And I know there’s plenty of video out there to paint protestors in a bad light…those people in MN are giving them absolute hell. Cussing them out, blaring car horns, symphonies of whistles, etc. any normal person consuming this side of the story would think protestors absolutely deserve to be dealt with.
It’s what pisses me off most about these threads….two different realities are at play. I’ve take the time to explore both and, I’m telling you, ICE is instigating and operating with reckless abandon. No American should support their behavior. Because that’s the problem….its not ICE as a construct that is controversial or causing so much outrage, it’s their behavior and disregard for everything America has stood for since we declared independence.
