This is pure spite. Mitch is spiking the football to further enrage everyone who is opposed to removing the monuments.
Although, from the other side of his mouth, he says the city needs to be united. I'm not sure his little celebration is consistent with that goal.

My point is that some things are beyond the assumed authority of council members. If you asked Joe Public do you wish the Council Members to have the authority to remove/deface historical objects in New Orleans without a popular vote, what do you think the answer would be.
I'm saying this goes beyond the assumed authority of the city council. This isn't a "zoning" issue and they made it one so they could have the ability to remove them.

Screwed himself? Do you know how happy he has made Soros? With his caving and action, which may be illegal, Soros and change and the other "non-profits" he funds can go after every city. All it will take is one clash to get ugly and Soros will make a fortune shorting the USD. Why do you think his news organizations and in pocket politicians are going so hard against the president? When you're worth billions and can pay thousands to make millions on short changing currency with BS you do it.
