I don't think anyone would have a problem, and most would support, adding monuments to commemorate the tragedy of slavery. It's not either/or.
I notice that Mitch hasn't made any proposal for such a monument to be built, but he sure is castigating others for being "self appointed defenders of history." What does he consider himself if not a champion of revising the historical narrative?
