Appreciate the response. It was the only comparison I could think of off the top of my head.

a failed rebellion against our Constitution
I mean these states went through constitutional proceedings and seceded from the US. They then made their own constitution and formed their own union. Fort Sumter wasn't attacked until after delegates from the CSA were unable to get the US congress to peacefully withdraw infantry and artillery from their country.
For someone attempting to call out the ignorance of others you sure do display a lot of it.

How did they get it up there back in the day? Aliens?

Why are they wearing masks? Isn't this an honorable undertaking?

Winner winner chicken dinner.
It would be unfortunate to have strong winds come up as they try and pull it off.
ETA: Want to know how there was no lift plan? They are only now attaching the jib after raising and lowering the boom.
You have to wonder if someone even checked the load chart.

I'm just glad we white folks won't have to hear anything else about reparations or slavery... it's like slavery never happened now.

Would be magnificent if that was Mitch and crew making it just in time to see a busted crane Lee still staring back at them.

I seriously wonder how Mitch sleeps at night. Like he can't REALLY feel as if he is in the right.

Mitch Landrieu?
@MayorLandrieu
If we take these statues down and don’t change to become a more open and inclusive society this would have all been in vain.
So when do the killing stop?
Posted on 5/19/17 at 3:58 pm to terd ferguson
If a president wanted to step in and stop Mitch, could he delayed\derailed any removal of statues?

Understandable. As I said it is hard to find a comparable situation to that of our country and many of these monuments in particular. While I don't doubt the fact that they were raised as a middle finger of sorts, the historical context of these men and the CSA in general is so full of ignorance and acceptance of said ignorance.

Or the crane falls on Mitch and crew...

We shouldn't be surprised. New Orleans is going to get exponentially worse as the years go. The fruits of productive citizens moving, blacks coming into political power, school quality collapsing, the black family breaking down, the illegitimate birthdate skyrocketing, uncontrolled crime, and the amount of the third world like citizens in the city are showing itself.
The younger generation to middle age adults are now living in what they deem as a normal New Orleans. It's been 3 generations since New Orleans ran like a pre white flight city. They think this is normal.
Every generation will get exponentially worse than the last. That stinks for those who love the city. But face it. Detroits reality is the future for New Orleans. No avoiding it.

Yes.
All it would have took was a simple executive order protecting all current military monuments.

New Orleans leads in tourism but isn't inclusive.
Makes sense.

Basically a boom that adds length to the cranes reach at the cost of load capacity, and load control.
