Do we have any museum people on this board that could provide their $0.02? Anytime I've seen a statue moved they've always built a support structure around it first (usually I've seen that made of wood) and then that structure is what takes the pressure of lifting straps and rigging and such; would that not have been the proper procedure here?

I don't see how the bubble wrap I've seen them put under the straps on the other monuments is doing anything, and I find it hard to believe that no damage has occurred to these statues.

It will not come down... Montgomery passed the bill today, Ivey will do likewise or the backlash will be severe.

They could never win another game.

Everyone take a look at Jeff Davis and PGT's new home where they can be put in "historical context".

Compliments of the city.

Just a huge admission of not carrying out what you said you would do.

And a further waste of taxes due to failure to plan ahead.

He said keeping the statues up is as bad as burning a cross on someone's lawn. WOW

The ignorance of this statement proves beyond doubt the only demographic he is pandering to in this charade of being "inclusive & diverse"

There are not good intentions in his heart with this. It's insulting to everyone on all spectrums, quite frankly

Historic multi-level location just recently became available in MidCity. Located directly on the Endymion parade route, it's very close to several bars in walking distance, if one had non-stone or metal legs. Space comes with several flags of varying type; each flag is attached to a dumbbell that is on the right, and many of them are on the far right side. There were some on the left up until the space became vacant. It may be difficult to remove the ones on the right. Has one shared restroom across the street, though you will have to make a purchase, as is the case with any place of business. Unfortunately because of the location's proximity to schools and churches, no firearms are allowed. Former occupant's furnishings have been removed. Space is ready to move in. Two more similar locations will be opening up soon!

Because San Antonio definitely knows about monuments to those that died... just remember the blood of those you mock is the only reason Texas isn't part of Mexico.
