if it wasn't for them there would be no ghetto thugs, out of wedlock children, communities making their living off govt handouts, etc.
Link to where I made any of these claims?
I'm about as far from ghetto as you can get and about to have my first kid with my wife of nearly 6 years

Are they depicted wearing the uniforms they wore while fighting against the US and killing Americans?
Never said anything about the confederacy or fighting. They owned slaves. They are "bad men" and we idolize them by plastering their faces on our currency.
Either be offended by all things related to slavery, or stop being a baby back bitch pretending to be offended by an inanimate object.

If the stink to take them down was overblown, then what does that mean? That there should have been no opposite response? That any opposite response would, by definition, also been overblown?
That the people all worked up over this are cut from the same whiny cloth at the end of the day, and I chuckle at both sets of snowflake bastards.

I'm not offended by people who owned slaves. I'm not offended by the statues.

No. Never asked for such.
I mean, unless you really want to. I won't turn it down--I'm not THAT rude

The Vieux Carre Commission would need to approve anything with Jackson.

Thanks man, I'm excited as hell.
Just want to be as good a dad as I can. My dad is still my role model.

I tend to agree, especially when it comes to the obvious identity politics of it all...but that doesn't really answer my basic question.
Once there was a push to take down these iconic landmarks in the city, there was going to be opposition to that. Now, you may feel that those wanting to take them down were righteous and any opposition was foolish. If so, then fine. But you seemed to indicate that those making a big deal about them were being over sensitive.
If that's the case, then why not oppose them on principle? To not do so, to me anyway, only leads other people to think that they can force their will even if their idea are foolish because those who oppose will fear being labeled as whiners.

And good luck getting them to alter anything

That would have been a general statement. Not one directed at you in particular... Pretty sure that was obvious

I think the part that gets blurred is when someone crosses from slave owner to only being known for slavery associations.
Sure, the people you mentioned owned slaves, but that isn't their main claim to fame. No one goes, "Robert E Lee, aw yeah, that was that baw who helped with the levees in New Orleans."
"Jefferson Davis? He owned that little place in Biloxi, right?"

Damn statue removal team caused me a minor inconvenience on my way home. Bastards. They closed Howard and the circle looks like they are starting to take down the street car lines.

I said both sides are being oversensitive. My personal druthers are against such monuments outside of a museum context, but like I said, it doesn't move my needle enough to waste energy getting worked up over them.
My point is the folks wringing their hands over people being sensitive over the display of inanimate objects are getting worked up over......the removal of inanimate objects. It's two sides of the same coin.
