If in the opinion of two Presidents he wasn't a traitor, then who the frick are you?
It's not a matter of opinion whether Lee took up arms and fought a war against the United States. It's the very definition of treason in the constitution.
But even if it were a matter of opinion, nothing those two presidents did means they thought he wasn't a traitor. Pardoning someone does not mean the president doesn't think they did their crime, it just means they're forgiven for it. Restoration of citizenship also doesn't mean a person isn't guilty of a crime.

He's been pardoned. He's had his citizenship restored.
