I'm the last person who wants bloodshed or real violence. But there would be something terribly ________ (appropriate? No. ordered? maybe. ironic? congruent?) there's no good way to say it. should workers/firemen be injured or killed trying to do this. Sadly, it's the only thing that would dull the mayor's outright crowing and preening over his "victory."

The shite we have to go through to get work done in my industry and these guys come in over night. How the permitting ha been approved for this is mind boggling. I wish a fricking bald eagle would go land right on top of Lee and stop this whole shite show

yea a 6x6 is not really an effective wheel chock on a crane

Chocked the wheels with a 4x4.
And no mats to put the outriggers on.

surely this 4x4x8 will stop this 8 ton crane from sliding down this "ramp"

Do cranes usually have haphazard paint jobs like this one?

Don't worry, man, they got this.

This ENTIRE thing has been a shite show.
Jefferson they had issues and had trouble.
Beauregard they looked like clowns.
Now this.

What kind of ghetto contractor did they hire to do this?

That 4x4 should hold the crane in place should things go wrong

my first thought

WWL's live FB stream has a great shot that puts everything into perspective of how high this crane will have to boom out to reach the top of REL on some really questionable footing.

I've never wanted something to fail so bad in my life

I am just wondering exactly how far the outriggers are going to sink into the ground when they put the weight on them.
ETA: yeah 1/2" plywood aint gonna get it done for the outrigger base. We typically use 1 inch steel plate and we work mostly off of concrete.
