If he would have employed those same tactics at Gettysburg, they might be speaking southern redneck in New England today.
The South in no way ever wanted to rule the north. They just wanted to be left alone.
We still just want to be left alone.

Doesn't a project of this magnitude typically require a pretty detailed set of plans and specifications?
Mitch's Detailed Plan for Removal of Monuments can be found below:
Find Workers
Rent Equipment
Get Statue Down

What's insane is that there is a 50 page thread on this.
It's kinda like those huge weather threads for what turns out to be a stiff drizzle.

boom angle also plays an integral part as well as the footing for the outriggers

Believe I saw somewhere 7-9 tons.

Attaching Lee to a cable and yanking him off with a BAW250 may be a safer option than this

It's NOLA. Mitch Bitch didn't get to be mayor by not knowing which palms to grease.

The statue was cast in bronze in six different sections. It stands sixteen and a half feet tall, and weighs over three tons.

shite, OSHA could make money off an audit.

and I am sure that you use a hardwood 4x4 and not some shite they picked up from home depot last night
It depended on the load, but most of the time we used either Doug fir #2 or SYP. There's a monster caveat that needs to be said though- we calculated every piece of timber, cribbing, crane, wire, angle, etc to a T, then had everything put into CAD with details, etc, and then stamped.
We used NDS to calculate all of the bending, shear, deflection, etc to make it work. If it didn't we just upped the size to 6x6 or 8x8.
I'm sure these guys did all of that.

Robert E. Lee, along with every other Confederate soldier, absolutely committed treason. A person who commits treason can fairly be called a traitor.
You're simplifying principles that were highly contested at the time. There was an argument to be made, and was made, by those in the Confederacy that states had both a legal and a moral right to peacefully secede from the Union. This principle was not settled by any unassailable moral and rational science, but rather by shear force of arms.
The founders, who likewise asserted the moral rights and legitimacy of separation of a people from their government, affirmed this principle through theoretical concept and deed.
Thus you can call them traitors and act as if this gross simplification is a condemnation on their character or the political and moral legitimacy of their pursuits, but possessing a simple ounce of honest and nuanced thinking pretty much destroys that argument. Particularly when you take into account that the government that would be asserting this principle was itself created by violating it.

A sky crane helicopter has a max payload of 20,000 lbs. To rent that monster cost a shite ton I don't know what it would take to fly this thing out by air
