Who are those people? You realize there's a difference between erasing history and not celebrating its villains, right? Should we have a monument to Hitler? He's a part of history. Should we have a monument to bin Laden? He's a part of history.
Did you just compare Robert E Lee to Hitler?
And the confederates to the Nazis? And terrorists?
The confederate army wasn't the one the started the war, or burnt entire cities, or suspended Habeas Corpus, or imposed special laws on others that they didn't follow themselves....

I'm starting to wonder if they walked off the job.

We know bad people in history existed. We just don't normally build monuments to them.
I think the discussion related to Lee and Beauregard, in particular, is that are they "bad people in history"?

Democrats don't know the history of either individual, so, yeah, they compare them all the time.

Potentially a life saving choice.

So we are taking down these things yet why are we keeping MLK Blvd in every city?????

Look at those able body model citizens dancing on the street. Must have taken a vacation day.

Whichever contractor did this...needs to have a billboard erected to make sure everyone knows who did this quality work that our city council voted for.
That should be a list plastered allover the internet and put on billboards throughout the metro area.

Probably the only smart decision they have made in the past few weeks

We need more wood boys because the crane is still swaying hard in each direction. The last piece of 2x4 is now in place so Mitch says lets roll.

Let's put a cop on every corner!
In in the NOLA present day thought process, let's put 100 by each statue.

They probably have it planned to come down during Mitch's gala today. He'll prob close the street and bring his party outside to watch Lee be removed like the ball dropping on NYE. Champagne and everything.

I haven't heard of any major conferences, concerts, or events being canceled yet. This won't matter and most people will have forgot about it by Monday.
