Al doesn't need to show up but how about raising "your" kids better?
I'd be ashamed if I was those kids parents (I doubt they are though because that behavior doesn't stem far from the tree) and the university/national organization.
And people wonder why "things haven't changed."

It's well known that sadistic jokes like this are said in the comfort and privacy of the spaces that welcome them-- ie no blacks or Latinos around.

You know, I was a member of Delta Tau Delta at the University of Oregon and had a lot of friends who were minorities in frats up and down the west coast at universities like UCLA, USC, UW, Cal, etc. I never found racism to be an issue on the west coast. Never encountered it during bidding or when I visited my friends at other universities and partied at their houses.
It is very disturbing to me that in other regions across the country the Greek System is predominantly Caucasian and exclusive of minorities. I'm a law student at Texas and I have never felt any racism or sense of exclusion on a societal level because I am an Indian. However, the undergrad social scene has a strong undercurrent of racial exclusivity. That is disturbing to me.

That's certainly true in some white families. Other households teach their kids the right things to value in other people, pigment not being one of them. Generalizing whites with this group is short-sided.

These kids are a mess. With this attitude, they'll use their money, status, and power to screw over far more people than any group of street thugs ever dreamed of being able to affect. And they will all be called honorable men.

I'm all for condemning this behavior no matter what color you are. I know bigotry comes from all directions....black, white, latino, asian.....My father, a black man, has racist feelings he tells me about. I tell him to cut it out just like I told my mother (rest her soul) to cut it out when she was being racist.
The problem I have is that what these dumb kids were chanting wasn't clever, it was just out and out awful. Jokes about black people can be funny, just like holocaust jokes can be funny....if there's some sort of craft to it. This was just lazy and dumb.
