how does that have anything to do with StGers.
Jesus, really?? The southeastern part of the parish was essentially inhabited by:

White flight, suburban sprawl, NIMBYs
Do you really not understand this about BTR?

Try to go from Acadian to P'ville? You're looking at an hour and a half.
I work in downtown BR and commute from kenner. It asked me an hour and a half at most door to door, and I get off at 5. You people are full of shite or have no concept of alternate routes.

If you don't think the fate of St. George is economically and geographically forever joined at the hip to the fate of the City of Baton Rouge as a whole I can't help you.
You came up with the retarded example of no taxation without representation. Last time I checked the residents of St. George had plenty of representation: City council, Mayor's race, Parish and City judges and the D.A. etc. etc.
And the entire City Parish helped build St. George into what it is. Let em pay the CIty and Parish back for all those decades of roads and infrastructure first. Then let's talk about no representation and pulling out with all the goodies everyone else helped pay for too.

Traffic inside Watson isn't bad. Getting there is because you have to drive through populated areas coming from BR. It ain't that hard to understand

You mean, like one without anybody to work there?
How do you think most workers get to their jobs so they can serve you?

If St.G can wait a few years I'm sure a new mall will be built further away from the city
Exactly where would that be, on the border with AP?
Just move to AP and be done with it.
Well....... Until it catches up let's say. Don't take the wheels off.

bullshite. Who paid for al those roads and infrastructure that made the Mall and Perkins Rowe even possible in the first place?
The city straight came out and said they would have a major budget deficit without SG. That means SG is not getting back what it pays. The city is getting most of it.

The United States could sever all ties with England cause of a vast geographic distance. St. George can never sever ties with the City, It can't run, so it can't hide.
What was north of the US?

This is actually be a good thing for SG. BR will get more St. George money to squander. St. George residents get great community schools and will prosper in the long run. This ransom is a small price to pay for all the benefit of incorporation.
Yep, and SG can offer attractive encentives to get new businesses to locate there. The mall hurts, but if they can survive long term without it, all the better. Taking mall taxes wasn't the primary goal anyway.
Silver lining, BR is admitting desperation by doing this. It shows they were beat and are now just delaying the inevitable....SG will happen. I don't live anywhere around there, but I know economic warfare, and this shows weakness/fear in BR's case.

I'd have to go dig, but several years ago it ranked number 1 in the nation for the worst traffic.

having Saints season tickets, there is absolutely no way this is true. I10 backs up by highland road every single day at 5. If you take highland road, you're looking at over 45 minutes just to get to interstate.
take bluebonnet? Even longer. College drive?

Don't tell them that.
That white flag has been hoisted for so long now, I don't think General Lee and Stonewall Jackson themselves could rally them to make a stand.
The shopping areas are a perfect indicator of that. Third to Bon Marche to Cortana, to the Mall of LA, and I feel sure next door to Cabellas is the next move.
Pretty soon a body of water has to come into play at some point.

It's like those who are stuck with the BR government don't want anyone to escape to something better.
Kinda how miserable people want everyone else around them to be miserable.
