Nothing getting too excited over. Can make a few hundred bucks but not anything crazy.

Those playing cards are interesting.
The Clemente and Aaron are good.

That’s just a sample of the best cards. We have two albums of good stuff that isn’t top, top dollar but they add up. Also a ton of 85 McGwire, Puckett, Clemens, etc that a few would probably grade 9-10’s. 70’s hostess panels of HOF guys. Close to 1,000 cards in those categories. In addition to the football and basketball collections.
Like I said, they all add up.

Here's my advise
I would try to sell everything all at once. Its going to be the easiest and best bang for your buck, if you do it right.
Im sure you can put feelers out there on facebook and maybe talk to people at shops or at a show. Find someone that will buy everything at once, in cash. Also, you should expect, and strive for around 70-75% of value. It sounds like your cards are going to be common, so there will be plenty of sales to get comps off of. So make sure the person you are dealing with isnt a scum bag and not trying to find the lowest comps, but the average sales of the cards.
If you can get someone to do it that way and will pay 70-75%, then take it. If you sell anything on Ebay, you are losing 20% right there if you are a new seller. Also, if you are a new seller and are trying to sell high value cards online, there will be many people that will be suspicious of a new account and will probably shy away.
You also need to take into account that if you decide to get the best cards graded, then depending on the card and the grading company, you could be shelling out $500+ in grading one card if it is valued high enough.
One more thing. You have a collection that you are trying to get rid of. You can start selling a card here and there. If the collection is large enough, then you are still going to be trying to sell cards a year or more for now. There are some cards that just arent going to sell. Someone is going to give you the opportunity to wash your hands of everything at once, and get a nice cash payment you can use on something else. This other person is taking all labor and possible headaches from you and will probably still be stuck with part of your collection a year from now and will end up bundling it with other crap to get rid of it themselves.
SUMMARY:Find someone that will buy everything at once. Overwhelmingly the best option.

How much are you looking to get for them? I may be interested.

None of your vintage cards would grade above a 1 or 2 with PSA. Maybe a a few 3's with some other grader. There's still a market of card enthusiasts who, like you as a kid, just want the card and don't care about the condition or grade, especially if it means their wife won't attack them for dropping a lot of money on something like that.
Sell them raw on Ebay to get the best value. The HOFers (Mantle, Mays, Musial, etc.) will sell if priced to move. There are dealers who buy entire collections in one swoop but they offer lowball rates (maybe 10 - 30% of book value).
If you have a large assortment of commons you can package those with minor stars and sort them by year and sell the bunch as a "starter set" or "set builder" for collectors looking to put together a complete set.
Cards from the 80s and 90s are almost entirely worthless. Pick out the handful that aren't and throw the rest away and save yourself the hassle.

I had numerous cards from 1970-1980’s went to a card show in Lafayette they weren’t worth nothing
From what I remembered is they were looking for older cards - good luck

There’s a decent difference in value between a PSA 9 & a PSA 10
You have to also think about the 25.00 per card for grading

Regardless of the money you’ll eventually make off these cards if sold, you have a very nice & impressive collection. You and your brother def knew who to collect

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you posted. That’s how we would prefer to handle it. Great advice.

Honestly, one of the consignment companies would be a good bet it you just wanna be done with it. COMC. There are others, but sell to a big buyer if you feel like you have the collection worth their time, consign, or by yourself on eBay.
