I agree wholeheartedly with everything you posted. That’s how we would prefer to handle it. Great advice.

I'm interested in the Clementes.

I appreciate the interest but we don’t want to break up the collection.

Were the albums stored in the attic?

No, they have never been in an attic.

Facebook groups will be your best bet honestly. Sold off some of my dad’s football cards that way.

There are very few that are worth big money. Mainly the rookie cards of the superstars of the 50’s. If you have a Mantle rookie card, you may have hit the lottery. If it’s a 9 or higher, it’s possibly worth a million or more. The rookie cards of the other superstars will be worth money also. 97% of the collection will be worth very little. But they’re still really cool to have.

If you have any Bowman cards from the 50’s and 60’s those will be worth some good money. Those are hard to find.

They ruined the industry in the early 90’s when a bunch of new brands came out and flooded the market. They would make “special cards” that were immediately worth “money”. And they still do that crap. It took all the fun out of it for me.

The industry is a bunch of fake dudes with phony YouTube shows and they’re a bunch of con artists and snakes. They set up fake box openings and crap like that to get clicks.

If you really want to sell, I would be interested in buying. I have about 20,000 from the same era and I’m keeping mine for now and will probably pass them down to my kids.

2025 Don Russ has 200 base cards
With variations & parallels there are over 17k different cards
Topps is 100x worse, I agree it takes the fun out of it
Lately I’ve just been buying the specific parallels for the players I want off eBay or Whatnot

If someone hasn’t mentioned it yet, watch Jack of All Trades on Netflix. It’s a great documentary on the rise and fall of baseball cards.
