I grew up there in the 80’s and went to a different high school. Salmen was always the trashy kids who lived on the poor side of town off Pontchartrain and Old Spanish Trail. They had good athletes though.

Tell your wine snob friends this..there was a study where wine snobs did a blind taste test. They were asked to discuss the flavor, what fruits they could taste, how dry it was, the country of origin..etc. they couldn’t tell the difference between a $5 screw top bottle from the grocery store and a $5,000 bottle of wine. Those people are nothing but pretentious phonies. That crap all tastes very similar and people who bloviate like your friends are just putting on airs and looking like idiots. She’s from a very wealthy family that basically owned Kansas City. Her great grandfather started a large bank and they’re most known for Kemper Insurance. As in the Kemper Open that was a staple in the PGA Tour long ago.

But if you look closely, she doesn’t not look that good in that commercial. She looks like she just woke up.

Tina Gambrell. My junior high librarian shall never be forgotten. She was young and really cute. Probably around 25-26 and really cool. My friends and I use to give her all kinds of hell in a good way and she would just laugh. Her brother was Mike Gambrell who played football at LSU. Wonder what she’s up to now. I wish there was a way to just look up somebody’s name and all their info would pop up.

True. Anybody who thinks Germany didn’t have a chance to win the war is incorrect.. if Germany had used the ME262 correctly and earlier, it would have really changed things. Their fatal mistake was attacking east. If they never attack the Soviet Union, and (for arguments sake) the USSR never enters the war, it would have been a very different ending.

But, Germany never had enough oil to keep the war machine running. If they had found an alternate source, they could have stayed in the war. But as long as they had to rely on synthetic oil, their days were numbered.

I always wonder what would have happened if the assassination attention in July 44 had been successful, would we have accepted the surrender of the new powers. That would mean no Market Garden, no Hurtgen Forest, mo Battle of the Bulge..etc
