Car wash subscription: have some pride in what you overpaid for
I’m certainly not ‘the younger generation’ but I’d much rather pay for the car wash subscription that I use every week than wash my vehicle every week. Screw that.

Gutter cleaning: buy a f’ing ladder
Also- paying the gutter guy is far more cost affordable than a trip to the ER with a broken neck, pelvis or otherwise. (Worked ER too long to consider unnecessary experiences / potential falls from a high ladder)

Handyman: learn and take care of your own stuff. YouTube is your friend
Reminded myself last night why I will pay a handyman next time I have to replace an over the range microwave. I’m sure it’s operator error- but I can never get those templates to line up right.

Dating and working are not the same thing. And yes, we get together in person, just not at work, similar to how you reconnected with people at a conference.
I remember, when nobody WFH, there were no pedophiles. Oh, wait.

I can change my own oil and wash my truck but i don’t want to.
Bennys makes washing my truck really easy

Same thing. Most will work into their 60s. Why is not forming relationships important? Can’t do that online. Good luck on the future of management learning everything from a YouTube management 101 video.

I don't change my own oil. I know how, but I don't have the proper space to do it, and my car is so low to the ground that even on jack stands it would just be a hassle. One of the very few instances where I'd just rather pay someone to do it. I do change my own brakes though.
The pest control, that's my wife's deal. I couldn't give two shots about it but for some reason it's non-nefotiable to her. I don't care enough to fight her on it. Id hear about it every damned time she saw a spider, which is still often even with the pest control.

Most Boomers can't even change their oil, quit acting like your entire generation is super handy.
Oh, we know how to do it. We grew up doing it.
But we also invented the Quick Change places.
Now that we're all retired with millions in the bank, we're more than happy to throw the youngster a few bones to change our oil for us.

Didn’t you commit return fraud at academy?

Man up and explain to her how spiders are nature's pest control.
Explain to her that for every spider she sees, 1000 other bugs were eaten for dinner.

kill two birds with one stone. Make them do the yardwork while you drink a beer and enjoy the satisfaction of watching them develop a work ethic.

Cable: cutting the cord ruined TV. Now you’re paying 3x as much for shite
I'd like to point out that this is not true.
You're comparing 1 service (cable) with tons of predetermined time slots majority made up of sports and syndications, one provider, and many times a fixed contract with another service (streaming) no contract, cancellation anytime, more content than you can dream to watch, the ability to watch any show without ads at the drop of a dime.
The value you get for streaming blows away cable even at 2x the price point.

She hates spiders. Can't do them. It's much easier just to give her the pest control.

So take away the family getting together to watch the quality, family oriented programming, to just do whatever on their own time and never seeing each other.

Still a little young to be helpful in the yard, but absolutely plan to have them do all the work I had to do when I was a kid. My parents made sure we knew how to work growing up

Pest control: a can of RAID cost $10. Use it
Ugh, in South Louisiana that's a non-negotiable no matter the generation. You have to have a termite contract or you will find out why you needed one within a few years. You have to show your termite inspection at the time of closing. Now, you can get a big jug of bug spray from Lowes to spray for spiders/roaches around the baseboards inside your house a couple times of year, but that's up to you especially if you have kids or inside pets.

Car wash subscription: have some pride in what you overpaid for.
Eh, the carwash around the corner from my house provides window cleaner and armorall with towels to use for free by the vacuum cleaners. If you wash your car at least weekly, I don't see a problem with this one.

Cars are so overengineered now changing oil on most of them is damned near impossible
Exactly. Whichever Ford engineer decided to put the F150 filter right above the axle/frame needs his arse beat. Some of the luxury cars don't even have a drain plug, but if you can afford that car you're not worried about paying someone to change the oil.

I would much rather call the pest control guy and complain about spiders/wasps/ants whatever than bother my husband.
I would rather ask my lawn guy to be here early before the rain/move shrubs/cut limbs whatever than bother my husband.
I would rather drop my car down the street for oil change/tuneup/tire rotation whatever than bother my husband.
I would rather hire an electrician/plumber/appliance guy/painter etc than bother my husband.
I like things done when I want them done not when he can make time in his schedule. He likes playing his guitar/watching football/having sex on his off time so I feel like it is a win/win. But by all means say we are soft and he is not a man.

Sorry you’re broke, I can afford to pay someone to do those things. My time is valuable.
