Nice pocket of upper divergence in place BR and north. (pink circles showing the location)

Warm air advection showing up nicely on the 850 mb chart. (wind barbs running perpendicular to the red lines (isotherms) indicative of that)
Can we get that in English please.

I find it interesting that despite a NE movement of the overall system, the broad rotation in the lake seems to be moving almost due east. Good news for the Northshore.

wrong thread i guess. but, it would be a nice gesture.
UL-Monroe's softball team is also on the road this weekend.
I assume it would just make more sense to play at ULM (if ULM offers the stadium to them, of course)

I'm typically thinking out loud when I post that stuff, so not expecting people to follow it.
The skinny is, when there is upper level divergence (more air moving away than moving toward an area) it supports heavier rain. There's a bunch of warm air moving it at lower levels from the south that will provide fuel for that rain potential to materialize.

Suspect rotation popping up around Marrero. Moving toward Terrytown and Timberlane.
ETA: And it's gone.

The storm structure is much more discrete than the last few events. Thankfully, the low level shear seems to be much more mild.

What is that loose butt hole thing just south of Lake Charles?

Jazz Fest is in a weather delay

Watching the stuff about to come off the lake, roughly around Lacombe for brief spin up potential. Also nice looking rotating storm riding just north of New Orleans over the lake. Might get rough over the twin spans in a little bit.
Out west, I'm thinking it's more a little cold pool that has dropped instability toward Lafayette that has produced the more discrete look for the back end. SPC charts show a moat of under 500 j/kg CAPE for that area.
