NWS Shreveport @NWSShreveport
A long-tracked supercell thunderstorm crossed from Deep East Texas into west-central Louisiana and into the ArkLaMiss overnight. We will be surveying along this swath over the next several days. At this time, we cannot confirm a tornado was on the ground along this entire path.

Weird weather observation/question
With these types of daytime storms, why is it always darker just before the rain starts?
It was black as night a few min ago, now we are having heavy rain but it's not as dark outside (still pretty dark, but not as dark)

Suspect rotation popping up around Marrero. Moving toward Terrytown and Timberlane.
Thats what I was looking at earlier before I got pulled away from my desk.
My parents are still in Terrytown.

Who can find the water spout on the last frame?

Cell in Vermillion Bay looks like it's packing a punch.
Also, severe thunderstorm warning for Natchez. Looks like it could be hail.

That's true. But if you take 7 random days in April in New Orleans, odds are high you're going to get some weather on at least one of them.

Gov. Honor Code is on his way to Ruston to get a 1st hand look at the damage

Maybe they should consider doing Jazz Fest another time of year without so much weather volatility.
