We will be last, if ever... The people that run this state are absolutely dumb

I'd prefer to see it legalized just because I don't think the government should be able to tell people if they can smoke a plant. Those assholes don't need more of our money.

Great! So now we will have even more chemical laden crap being sold on the streets without regulation

Just a token bill. Never had a shot.

private prison is a good industry.
Jus shove people in them like cattle for smoking weed. We love our small gov republicans.

And these same people who killed the bill, are exempt from being fired for having weed in their system for a drug test, if they have the MJ card. I am not allowed to have a card and would be fired if I got one. Zero tolerance policy for weed in your system at my job. I believe state and government officials are the only groups exempt from weed work laws in the entire state.
I’m glad that us peasants have to abide by different laws than our elected officials. We are not worthy!

a significant % of retail, fast food, and service industry workers in Louisiana are stoned at work every single day
Had to take my 75 y/o mother to a doctor’s appointment a while back. She wanted to eat at Wendy’s afterward. While we were eating, I noticed a 20 something y/o dude cleaning the windows and taking out the trash. When we left, he was sitting on the curb right outside the door all of the customers use smoking a big blunt. I just shook my head and left.

And yet Republicans wonder why they keep losing ground to the batshit crazy Democrats.

Legalizing weed would really be a plus for Louisiana. Stoned employees are the best
Do you go to work drunk, or do you consider yourself the single, high-moral outlier that doesn’t have to simply because alcohol is legal?

You mean the people who make money off of criminalization didn't want to lose their revenue stream? Shocker.
There is plenty to go around in Louisiana. They don’t need to lean on drug bust to find crime.

You're talking about the same state that half of it can't play Daily Fantasy because the people voting for it think it's evil. Yea...this state is stupid.

Let’s flesh this out…. What type of employees are you concerned with? Would you you agree that many menial jobs are already being completed by individuals currently using thc?
Do you scoff at professionals having a “drinking” lunch or dinner where work is discussed or will be later?
We can all agree that technical jobs shouldn’t be tasked under the influence and you can certainly not desire thc to be legal but the work argument is flawed on many levels.

Small town sheriffs pad their pockets with the small time drugs busts and drug dealing

Yeah, call me old fashioned. I just figured that if someone was actually going to smoke at work, they would be a little more discreet about it.
