Anytime I see a double major on a resume, say French Lit and Statistics, and that person had excellent grades, that person goes to the top of the stack. Just saying.

What do you find more often...a four leaf clover or an employed engineering Southern grad?
Well there's no shortage of Southern Law grad lawyers. Other than that... Yeah, I'll go with the four-leaf clover.

How how much did Star Wars make?
The basis of the story is founded in philosophy and French studies.
Still think they need to be cut?
I've met a lot of worthless engineers from lsu in my day.

We need them. I'm wish it weren't the case necessarily, but engineering isn't all it's cracked up to be. You start off well, but plateau out pretty quickly. I took a pay cut to take this job, but only so I could work with PEs where I'd get real, extremely critical, review of my work. It's a niche though and without lucrative contracts I can't really cash in. We'll see, maybe I need to change careers.
ETA: Thread is ironic since the OP considers his degrees more valuable than other people's.

True. But from what I recall, you said that it was still very challenging for her to work up the corporate ladder. It probably took years of work post-degree. Was it the experience from working multiple interns help her or the education itself?
You graduated with an engineering degree and can't even get a job, so what if she had to work her way up.

What job opportunities do these programs provide?
Universities aren't job training centers.

Are there any programs that LSU has that you all feel the university would be off without. Philosophy, Women Studies, French Literature, etc . Or do you find the innate worth of these degrees to valuable.
Nothing wrong with those majors. They develop creativity and critical thinking skills. The world needs that.
You want a university or a trade school?

She worked at the Chimes through school, no interns, no family jobs...she started as a head hunter in San Francisco as her first real job, then a manager of a mall make-up company, then at a call center, then a second call center job at a company that she's worked up through for ten years. No secrets, she just keeps her head down and works hard and doesn't expect shite.
I'll never understand how people think reading a 300 page book in a foreign language then writing a creative 20 page paper in that language about some obscure theme offshoot is easy. Guarantee most 'good degree' people would absolutely crap the bed with that. She has worked a helluva lot harder than the business degree majors she out paces everyday, and it didn't just start after college.
