And of course there (rightfully) will never be a Trump Day National Holiday (well unless you count President's Day).

Maybe I should go on CNN or MSNBC and say what I have said here and see how I am labeled.

You'd get laughed off the set if you went on and spread the BS you've been spreading in this thread.

Have you found any proof to your claim that he openly supported the Viet Cong? Not the extremely biased Washington Times column you already posted, but King's actual words.

King was no saint and if you go on CNN and repeat how he did not approve of homosexual relations you will be called out. You will also be called out for going against "Dr" King. I laud what he has done but as someone in education we have a double standard in how we teach things. For some such as Robert E. Lee, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Andrew Jackson, etc we are told to teach about their immorality in owning slaves/treating people unfairly, yet for others we are not supposed to speak ill of. Hell you can get in trouble for bringing up Malcolm X now as an educator in how he was a radical extremist.

Let's assume everything you say is true, and worse, who, other than someone on the fringe, will report this?

Report what? Everything has been reported already.... Everything is known already it is just a matter of should it be taught like how we teach all the negative aspects of other individuals throughout history. Do we pick and choose on this or do we tell the whole truth and let the people decide?

I just enjoy the day off really, He did some positive things for civil rights, He made some mistakes, yes it was known that he was anti LGBTQ. Yes he had multiple affairs. If honestly we were headed down the road his counter parts picked up and tried to pave after his death(Sharpton, J-Jackson type) then there is a strong chance this day would have never been set aside. They set race relations back a decade every time they try to defend a guilty person or speak publicly. Its shameful at best.

I'll leave at this for you and everyone else who has I'll will toward MLK.

I would rather have the most sinful person on Earth stand up and do the right thing when it matters than have a million people being saintly until it's inconvenient in the most desperate times.

For those of you who are Christians

Is that not exactly what I said? We should all be operating under the same set of rules would imply we treat people from both sides the same would it not? Really trying to figure out what you're pushing back on in my statement.

Not sure that I believe you

My only addition to this nonsense is that one of the news channels did a special report on my school because we didn’t have MLK day off
