Why didnt your mom get a job then ? I feel like a stay at home mom would get bored . Like a desperate housewife.

Not sure really. She didn't go to college so the jobs she worked before she had kids were retail jobs.
She actually has a job now(retail) and loves it. She doesn't drive(long story) so that could have been another reason she didn't have a job when we were kids.

Material things like health insurance and dental care for your kids?
I mean it's not like she would have had a high paying job. But she could have had something with benefits for us.
My parents loved us and tried their best, but I'm def learning from their mistakes.

I don't have kids and have no bone to pick in this argument but...
If you can pay a daycare <20k a year to watch your child for 8 hours how is that not considered the same amount a stay at home moms work would be worth?
