yep. At Knox, that's where they used to take you to have fun.

The real fun at Ft. Knox was on three hills named "Agony", "Misery", and "Heartbreak".

Yep. Went to basic at Fort Knox '90. We had road marches over all three. My knees and feet still hurt just thinking about it.

Hope they didn't do y'all like they did us. We had to do them in MOPP level IV.

After a drill Sgt had a heartache on heartbreak, we didn't get to do it. Misery and agony I'm well acquainted with.

I never did that in basic but I've did it several times as permanent party. Also did a sports day where all the events (soccer, softball, etc...) were in MOPP 4.

SSgt Chavez (green belt). Never will I forget him. He told me I would be his bitch for the next three months and he was right. I was a quarter deck junkie But when I finished the crucible he told me he gave me a lot of shite because he knew that I could handle it and he respected me for continuing to push through. Dude was an arse.

I've spent 52 weeks of my life in mopp4...

SSgt J Combs, AF...

Said he was getting out because too many pussies were running the AF,

Kicked 17 people out of my basic flight, hauled 3 away in straight jackets and 1 in handcuffs for taking an already paid for candy out of the bottom of the candy machine...

Bad dude.

Bigger than John Cena.

I spent the first two months of the '03 invasion in MOPP 1 but we only went to 4 during Scud alerts. How and why would you spend a year with a pro mask on?

I remember seeing the fate of the guys who washed out from my platoon. They were sent to a separate barracks where they were supposed to be "processed" out or sent back to the start in the next rotation. We saw them out quite a lot and could always tell it was them because they were made to wear the old WWII style steel-pot helmets.

One of the many shite jobs those poor bastards had was anytime we'd march out to the range, they'd go along as well. They'd march in a formation about 50 yards behind us. Each one had a mop they carried over their shoulder like a rifle. One guy was made to carry a bucket of water. Anytime we'd stop, they'd stop, form a line, and go by this guy and his bucket of water and re-wet their mop. Then when we'd reach the range they would be put over in one of the assemble area gravel pits and they'd spend the whole day there on their hands and knees turning over gravel one at a time. If they were not really nuts when they were shipped to the "steel-pot platoon", they were by the time they left. Seeing what those guys were put through went a long way in motivating me to keep on going and not give up.

Joined in 86 and I remember my Drill like it was yesterday at Tank Hill, Fort Jackson. DS Renfro talked out the side of his mouth and hated everything. 14 years later I became a Drill with the same company, 3-13. Needless to say, I hated every private that entered the door but loved it when they graduated.

Boohoo, AF basic...

Ever made the walls sweat? Ever do it at 3 in the morning because someone took a piss during fire guard?

We had this whole red/white/blue phase thing. Each phase gives you more "freedoms". We spent a grand total of 5 minutes on white and blue phases. We had 2 guys literally die in basic, and our CO was relieved.

We got smoked because he was relieved...
We go smoked because the water buffalo had a hole in it...
We got smoked because it was a Tuesday, every damn tuesday.
We got smoked because before the CO was relieved, he led us on a ruck and got lost...
Go to church on Sunday? Go to the pit because you are trying to sham. Didn't go to church on Sunday? Go to the pit because you are a heathen.
We got smoked pretty much every day including the last one.

So tell me how your 6 weeks in AF basic was again.
