By law, lawyers cannot share fees with non-lawyers.

That doesn't really make any sense. How else are you going to fund your staff if not through fees?

What about the same question for owning an Accounting Firm

In LA, a majority of the firm has to be owned by licensed CPAs. That's how it is in most states. A couple of states do not allow non-CPAs to have an ownership interest.

I think Arizona allows it now

I’ve seen an uptick in letters from “law firms” from Arizona lately. They help people with their debts. It’s a sham. They put these folk in worse situations than what they are in. I have told them from now on, I’m only dealing with Louisiana lawyers. They stopped calling and sending me letters.

My aunt runs a small town law firm and it's ridiculous how bad she is with money. I can't believe she is still afloat.

Many firms especially decent size ones and larger, have a firm administrator who isn't a lawyer but run the business of the firm. They aren't an owner but are paid comparable to what a COO might make.

just get a homeless dude and use him as the fall guy when the firm is busted for being owned by a non-lawyer cause you must have a fall-guy to take the fall. Plenty of em where you live I'm sure

You can pay staff and rent or mortgage, but directly sharing a fee with a non-lawyer (like a percentage) is prohibited by the Rules of Professional Conduct. That is one of the things E. Eric was disbarred for.

But, according to TV ads you can market as a non-attorney spokesperson for the firm.

So, you could in effect just go into business with a person with a license. He could be the face and litigation side. You would be the marketing firm. Contracts written for you to receive your share of the award.
