Well you tell your wife to go to Germany and then you go to somewhere that interest you.

My Brother was stationed there in the 80's and he loved it. Have a friend's son who is currently station Germany in the Army and he loves it also. Great thing is its a good jumping off point to go so many places in Europe.

So what's he gonna be doing over there. Sipping on beer and eating bratwurst and sauerkraut?

Found out today that my stepson (USAF) will be stationed in Ramstein, Germany. My wife is already talking about going to visit but tbh, Germany doesn't interest me much. Switzerland, on the other hand, is a place I'd like to visit. Anybody familiar with those areas or have any suggestions?

Say hi to Klaus Schwab for me

Ramstein is a huge base.

My wife and I have both been married previously. Her first husband was career military. She lived in Germany 3 different times for a total of 8½ years.

She said it used to be wonderful when she was there. She is horrified at what Merkel let happen there.

I saw them live a couple times. Hell of a show, didn't understand a word they were saying, though. It was like they were speaking a different language.

I understood part of that one song about how much they hate Amerika. "This is not a love song."

I spent a summer in Bavaria and found that I wished Bavaria had stayed a separate country, that many Bavarians hate Prussians and the Prussian militaristic mindset, and that Bavarians are the southern, fun loving, good times loving people.
The family I lived with wouldn't even listen to TV shows with Berlin or Prussian accented German.

The Swiss are a bit (hah) uptight and we found that Switzerland is expensive. They are better than pretty much everyone else, just ask them

Don’t freak out the first time you see them eating mayonnaise on their French fries. It’s actually quite good.

No it's not.

Fries dipped in virtually any other condiment is better than fries dipped in plain mayo.

Don't think I'm actually going there, unless we take a day trip to see Neuschwanstein Castle
