Hello, this is auto warranty service…
Ask them if the warranty covers "stank" and ant mounds.
Tell them that you accidently left some mullet guts in a paper sack and then left for vacation to Gatlinburg for a week. Describe all the fudge shops and go-cart tracks. Then tell them you tried to kill the ants that were building mounds in the torn upholstery and that you used ammonia. It killed the ants and covered up the "stank", but you couldn't drive the truck unless the windows were down. Tell them with the windows up it was hard to breath and made you light-headed.
Ask them would this policy cover a rental and the cost of two quarts of ammonia.
An aside, there is a little bit of truth to this ruse.

Think it's bad now, wait until you hit retirement age and apply for Social Security and Medicare as your insurer.
The calls, snail mail, e-mails and texts are off the charts from companies offering supplemental plans to augment basic Medicare.
My mailbox was filled almost daily for the first 18 or so months and the calls were coming several times a day from companies wanting to sell me their plans.
It's fricking insane.

I've been getting maybe 10 calls a day from what look like local numbers but are being generated (by the accent of the people on the phone) from "overseas" asking for Greg.
MY NAME IS NOT frickING GREG!
I explained this once or twice, but it's made no difference. And there's no blocking them, because it's a new number every time.
I'm considering changing my name.

Been blowing up my phone too the past couple weeks. I too get pissed off when my phone rings. Guess I'm getting old.

I work for a small technology sales organization. We have had outbound cold callers for over 10 years, but we have a very specific clientele that have to buy our product or another one like it. 75% of our business comes from that and we have exceptionally happy customers.
Our seasoned cold caller who is very good at his job just put in his 2 weeks today because he just can’t get ahold of anybody any more and is tired of it. People who would always talk to us even if they didn’t buy anything won’t take our calls any more but still respond to emails.
We’re still doing great as a business and making 2-3mm GP in a company of 5 but the days of targeted calling are pretty much done and robocalls killed them.
Nobody likes callers necessarily, but we had a great run of calling into accounts, finding interest, and then demoing and installing network security products.
Going to be an interesting change in our business plan.
