Ha, have two in the family. 75 lb female 50/50 goldendoodle that is light blonde colored and sheds a little and an 80 lb male red F2B more poodle than golden and he doesn't shed a single hair.
Best dogs I've ever been around. Capable but willing to lay around for 20 hrs/day if needed. Look like teddy bears when they have long fur.

But we keep ours pretty short in the summer.

Best dog you could ever have and I grew up in a house of Labs. Quite literally the smartest animal I’ve ever been around. She gives people hugs when they walk in our house

Also never shite in my house even once, going all the way back to her puppy days. Almost zero shedding, but she’s an F1B so she’s 75% poodle and 25% golden.

Well I have one and several of our friends do.

They don’t shed close to as much as other dogs, but my roomba definitely has dog hair in it every time it runs.

Humans shed too. So that’s pretty insane you’ve never found a single hair from your dog

You have a low bar, they aren't even as intelligent as the poodles they come from.

You would be shocked at what borders are capable of.

Well, I've never been around a straight poodle or a border, so statement still stands

we have a 2 year old female. She by far is the best dog i have ever owned. She only barks at strangers and sometimes other dogs. she is only 44 pounds and more than likely will stay that way. she only sheds when she gets nervous. but she is like a child. i swear she jumps on the trampoline with my kids and plays baseball wih them. damn dog will steal socks out of the dryer and hide them.

Poodle hairdos give them a bad reputation but damn...those are some athletic dogs. People forget they were bred to be hunters.

standard poodles are incredible hunters and retrievers. Extremely athletic and great swimmers

My grandparents just got a mini one from a "farm" in South Carolina. They drove all the way there from Mandeville to get it because they will not fly the dogs. According to my grandparents the "farm" was way better than the breeding factory (?) they have in St. Tammany.

I told them over and over to try and find a dog to adopt but they were dead set on this particular type of dog. shite is such a racket.. Think they paid like $1,400 total. It's like a la carte dogs. $100 extra for curly hair.. $100 extra for red hair.

The dog is adorable but pretty active (like most puppies) and my grandparents apparently didn't anticipate that. The mom was a golden retriever and dad was a mini poodle I guess. They estimate the puppy will get to about 25-30 lbs when full grown.

So far the pup has no problem with furniture.. just loves shoes and shoe laces

Probably more information than you were looking for OP. Sorry. If you are really interested I can find the name of the place in SC if you want though.

ETA: Hypoallergenic and no shedding is a huge plus, though.

The truth about shedding- the first generations will still shed, second generations on down will not shed. We were very careful when we got our to make sure they were second generation. Zero shedding.

Anyone have good recommendations on a good trainer?

My neighbor had one and it was always full of energy. Good luck with that if you don’t have kids or someone to wear it out

What big dogs don't have energy when they're young? English bull dogs?

FWIW, ours is 7 now and he's a lazy motherfricker these days. The other day he just laid down when I was walking him and gave me a "go frick yourself" face because it was so hot

Ours has a little straighter hair. Looks more like this. A huge teddy bear.
