IMO a bar needs at least 5 good craft beers on tap if they want to have a successful cocktail lounge in a downtown area. I'm not talking about domestic lagers either.
on NYE they had taps for an abita (forgot which one), parish (canebrake), Tin Roof (Mardi Gras Porter), and some IPA but I forgot who made it. Either 4 or 5 decent craft beers that kept me happy all night.

the bar itself is too short for the space IMO, but otherwise I enjoy it as far as a downtown bar goes. They have a decent Bourbon selection so you can drink something other than Makers and the occasional Knob Creek like almost all of the other bars in the area serve.
I saw the cocktail menu but didn't realize that was something they were supposed to be specializing in. I wouldn't trust a server there to make me anything more complicated than a rocks/water/soda type drink.

Meh, but i'm a beer snob. I was replying to the earlier poster that said they did not have any draft beer.

I haven't been yet, but....and these are my own personal biases...I saw photos on Facebook of the opening night and the crowd looked super-douchey. Like there were too many wanna-be politicians there for my taste. I could be wrong. I mean, the only downtown bar I like is Red Star. Those other places aren't meant for me.

I haven't been and am unlikely to. Don't want to give Delgado(uche) any of my money. He has shown himself to be a grade A jackass and idiot with his handling of the St George issue.

Place is a dump! One owner is cool.... The other owner, Councilman Delgado is a tool!

My experience with Huey's was that it was a nice bar, lots of places to sit. They had a good selection of alcohol, not a lot of beer but some decent bottles, good looking mixed drinks, I was drinking scotch.
The problem was the music was way to fricking loud and it was mostly rap music. Seriously it had the feel of a nice upscale type bar but the music was like I was in Tigerland, couldn't hear a thing
