Only in America would we send symptomatic healthcare workers back to work, and kids with no symptoms home.

School had us pick up one of ours yesterday for "close contact" from last Friday. So we had a 3 day weekend, no symptoms, she returns to school on Tuesday and we don't get a call until 130 to come get her. She had to stay home today and can go back tomorrow
And to make it better, her two sisters who are also in her class and who she shares a bedroom with did not get sent home

I'm going to lose my mind before this is all over. Kids in two different schools who are dealing with it slightly differently.
Some of y'all don't seem to understand that the school makes you test your child before they can return, even if they're completely asymptomatic. Or, they will send them home if they exhibit one of the eleventy billion possible covid symptoms. It's INSANE.

Daughter got sick, just general sick, and they made her sit out for 10 days and required a negative covid test. Talk about give me a case of the red arse

Nobody sits within 6 feet of each other or of me in my class, so there are no exposures if one student comes down with it. The rule here is within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more.

Ahhh she must be unvaxxed because the vax kids get to stay.
The biggest joke is, you have to follow the same quarantine rules after exposure whether you’re vaxxed or unvaxxed.
Thereby exposing the lunacy: why get an experimental shot which is extremely ineffective AND gets you no extra freedoms from their stupid “rules”?

It’s so arse backward. My 14 year old has it now. He has to miss 5 days, then can return to school with no test on day 6 and wear a mask for a week. That’s if you actually have it and show symptoms.
His siblings who don’t have it and have no symptoms have to miss 10 days and get a negative test on day 10 to return.
This whole thing just makes no fricking sense.

I have a feeling the school may be testing kids without saying anything. Wife went to do one of the at home tests, and 2 y/o freaked out when she saw the Qtip and covered her nose. She has never been tested, that we are aware of, how the frick did she know that's where it goes?
I've done a self test. If some school stuck one of those q-tips up my child's nose without my approval, we'd have a big fricking problem.

Had a friend call me today on her way to pick up her kid from school. Just returned from an exposure quarantine yesterday and had to quarantine again today due to another exposure. 4th or 5th time this year. Kid probably missed over a month of school for quarantines and never actually had covid. Just sent home to teach himself. This doesn't include the month he was out for the hurricane. It's ridiculous. Plus, the vaccinated kids don't have to quarantine if they are exposed, but they are the ones testing positive at school causing the non-vax to have to go home.

Find a better daycare
My kid had an exposure last week. He hasn’t had to miss a day
Same, he has had three close exposures in the past three weeks and hasn't missed a day. Most other parents in his class are sending theirs as well. Daycare tells us they can't enforce any quarantine so it's up to the parents. As long as he isn't showing any symptoms he'll be there.

Daycare is 10 day quarantine for exposure.
This. And it’s freaking insane. One-year old’s daycare teacher tested positive over the weekend. So, they decided to let us know that following Monday AM - when we showed up to drop him off - that they were making his entire classroom stay away for 10-days.

Where they come up with these retarded guidelines no one knows. It’s like they just pull shite out their arse and run with it.

Sounds like the school needs some smarter folk making decisions. We are finally to a reasonable policy here - no sick/symptoms, no care.

We had a similar situation last week, except there was no known covid. My kid sneezed (yea sneezed, apparently once) and some snot came out, so they called my wife to come pick him up. They said he'll need a test to come back in five days. My wife basically said it is not our job to prove a negative out of our own pocket, so either the school can provide the test or we were going to bring him back on Tuesday (this happened last Thursday.) They folded immediately and said that was fine.
Still pissed me off that he missed a day of school for absolutely no reason.

Yea don’t let your kid get tested. This is bullshite

I still have the wuflu and have to go into work tomorrow because it falls within CDC guidelines of being over 5 days, having no fever for 24 hours, and symptoms improving. I will basically have to cough on everyone though no fault of my own and remind everyone that masks work and to trust the CDC.

If you weren’t already sure that a huge chunk of the American people are ignoramuses before this “pandemic”, well now you have your evidence.
