Everyone knows Ben Franklin is the goat.

He invented electricity, the internet, beer, and wrote the constitution

It does, actually. If he isn't in Philadelphia in 1787, the Constitution as we know it doesn't get written and certainly doesn't get ratified by the states. He was a moderating presence in the room, allowing contentious debates over representation and other important issues to be hashed out through compromise. He was also the first guy to sign the freaking document.

His performance at the Constitutional Convention, combined with his leadership of the Continental Army during the Revolution, are the main reasons why Federalists and Anti-Federalists alike practically begged him to be the nation's first President under the Constitution.

We aren't a nation without him. That's why he is and will always be tGOAT American.

Much better than bringing troops to bear over a BS tax or jailing people for speech.

But not as good as winning us our independence. I believe that trumps everything. And just because you think it was a BS tax doesn't mean what he did was unconstitutional. Congress was given the power to levy taxes, Americans signed off on that power, and when that power was defied through rebellion, Washington, being the chief law enforcement officer of the land per the Constitution, took action to enforce the laws of the United States.
