Ive never seen a lug nut team worth a damn but maybe i just missed em. They never played in any competitive division
They do a lot of pay to play teams. They make families pay stupid fees so they can then enter the rec league at traction to get a ring against actual rec ball teams.

Or just don’t do travel ball with the other morons.
Travel ball is an embarrassing thing to be involved in at this point.
The state of BR baseball is pretty sad and Brec/EBR should be to blame. There are a lot of kids and teams who join up under one of these "travel ball" organizations because of the lack of decent fields to practice on. The Brec baseball fields are shite. They're rarely cut, ants everywhere, they're not graded and are holding water, the dugout and bleachers aren't maintained, etc etc. The organized teams have deals with private fields that are maintained well. Brec's baseball facility that they take care of is in oak villa which is so out the way for most families playing - it might as well be Zachary.
The infrastructure is already there for Brec - Highland has 4 fields, Kenilworth has 3, and there's a bunch of others spread across the city. If they could be pressured into giving a shite about their fields it could really help Baton Rouge youth baseball. But no, we have like 6 people in BR that want to canoe Bayou Fountain so the money is spent there.

What’s the deal with some charging a fee for try outs?
It’s part of the grift.

You are so on point with this. BREC is sitting on millions of dollars in reserve as well as the library system. Instead we get travel ball. That's why I named my son Jaxxon. The best part of my Friday is picking the walkup music.

keeps the rec kids out from wasting everyone's time and their parents are the first to say they aren't paying that fee. which is the point

I can confirm, don't play for Lugnuts. The head guy cares more about himself and his connections than the families that make the originzation possible.
