I mean, there's a chance it will be a little breezy but it's mostly going to be rain. The coast won't flood unless there is a very large storm surge...this storm won't have a big one.

So (at least according to this model) we're looking at a tropical storm dumping rain on us while it just chills offshore. Great.
I don't want to go thru August 2016 again.

Nola pumps handle 1" for the first hour and then 1/2" per hour after that. 17 inches would cause your basic street flooding like you see once a year, but assuming its over the course of a day or two, it wouldn't be all that bad.

So we are down in Gulfport for a training for a few more weeks. Do we have any idea what day this may be hitting? This week? Next week?
Check out these two sites the next few days for storm path and other info:

This sure looks to be a great week to have friends flying in to fish Venice for a week. Dang it this is bad luck and we can't cancel going to be a lot of hurry up and wait at the camp.

Same thing here. We leave Tuesday for some inshore fishing in Golden Meadow and had a charter set up for Saturday out of Grand Isle. But looks like that's done for already.
Here's the crazy thing...we had one lined up for last August 12th...we'll have had two charters cancelled by crap like this two years in a row. Pisses me off as I took the entire week off.

Seems like they are all settling on the La coast except for two. Got 50 acres of hay on the ground and heavy equipment lined up to rework a pond that been drained and waiting for over a year

Zeroing in on the La Coast now it seems.
Hoping it finds a path just east of New Orleans.

So hurricane or tropical storm hitting us?
Posted on 6/18/17 at 9:40 pm to Duzz
Shear and shallow warm waters suggest it'll likely be a TS. The rain is the big thing to watch for.

I wish.
Murphy's Law is in full effect lately.
LA cannot catch a break from the rain since March 2016.
I think the rain gods despise John Bel Edwards
