And you apparently have nothing better to do on a weekend besides insulting your inferiors on an anonymous website
fricking moron, why don't you take your obviously superior intellect and do something useful?

Oh, the irony.

Most likely because their drivers were found to be employees and not independent contractors by the courts.

Let's do best case scenario here: You're an Uber driver and you pick up a guy. He attempts to rape and murder you, but you shoot him in the face with your pistol that you carry in your car and you live.
And now you have to deal with the emotional and legal consequences of blowing a guy's head off.
But, I guess in this 2nd amendment fantasy of yours, you just lick the blood off your face...say some cliched action-movie catchphrase like, "a-hole, you just got brains all over my new upholstery" and carry on with your day.

You need to make up your mind whether you're insulting me or complimenting me
Seriously though, have you seen OP's posts? I don't think you'd be aligning yourself with that guy if you had...

You're a special kind of idiot.

People like you just come across as having a very different type of emotional response to these hypothetical situations is all.

I'm a psycho because I'd kill someone trying to harm or kill me?
Posted on 6/21/15 at 3:39 pm to bhtigerfan
No. You're a psycho because it seems like you get off on the idea of killing someone.
Also just because someone is trying to harm you, doesn't mean you're justified in killing them.

I'd still be carrying if I were a driver.
I'd rather break the rules alive than complying with them dead.

Think long and hard about what you just said.

If anything, uber drivers are less likely to be robbed than an average citizen. People itt are acting like they're driving a Brinks truck in Somalia.

Well you do understand that just because you are carrying doesn't automatically make you invincible, right? You actually have to grab your gun and shoot the guy and hope you don't get shot yourself..which would quite difficult with your back facing the robber.

Über doesn't have legal ownership of the car.

If someone is trying to fight you (just one example) you're not justified in killing them. I'm sorry that you want to be, bit you're just not. Then again, I don't go around constantly in fear of my life like apparently some do.

So carrying a gun is pointless to you with that logic huh? You should just bend over and wait for your head to be blown off since its so hard to turn around in the car with a gun to protect yourself.

This whole thread is based on extreme stretches of logic and chance. It's absurd.

Louisiana law says.....
quote:
A. A homicide is justifiable:
(1) When committed in self-defense by one who reasonably believes that he is in imminent danger of losing his life or receiving great bodily harm and that the killing is necessary to save himself from that danger.
That's all it takes and an aggravated battery would qualify, not just necessarily believing and proving that the guy was about to kill you.
You're wrong but I will say that you should've put qualifiers on deadly force instead of making such a vague statement.

Tell that to the woman in the earlier video who watched her parents be murdered in a restaurant while her pistol was in her car.
Ok, there will always be these worst case scenarios that people spit out, but if we're playing life by worst case scenario, why bother driving? I know a hell of a lot more people who have died in car crashes than who have been murdered. Why go on the stock market and try to make some money? A lot of people have lost money on it.
In another words, if you're living your life solely for the worst case scenario, then you're not living. You're just a paranoid nut. Worst case scenarios very rarely happen. Every day you take risks, and the chances of a nice restaurant being shot up are one in a million. If you don't want to risk anything, build a fallout shelter, get tons of freeze dry foods, and never leave.
