Thanks for the vote of confidence. Enjoy your summer off. You will be back to grading English papers in August.

There is no doubt you will.

It’s amazing how many 20-29 year olds some how think they have it figured out and should somehow be in management positions.

I know now in my 40s, you don’t know shite about life till you are probably around 35.

The experiences in life that you have gone through is gonna help you tremendously in law school. Wait till you have to be the prosecutor or defense and you argue against them. Just understanding life and knowing how things actually work will make you scary good

You seem unhappy. Maybe you missed your calling?

Ever talked to an attorney? 99% of us are unhappy. I had attorneys trying to talk me out of going to law school before I applied.

Welcome to the club (in three years and some change assuming you pass the bar).

So you sucked arse as a young student, but with now having several decades more life experience, you’re handling law school better than young students?

No fricking way

College is a breeze without the partying and chasing tail to worry about.

When you're in your early 20's you're still under the impression that school is a drain on your time. I mean can you imagine going back to a world where your only task is being in class a couple hours a day and then learning material? Dream come true after long work days / weeks / months / years and paying out the arse in taxes.

Yes I have had quite a few attorneys try to talk me out of law school. But the owner of the company that I work for is paying my tuition, books, etc. Hell, I even have a company car and so it won’t cost me anything but time. I have time now. My kids are grown. My youngest son is in his 3rd year at LSU. My boss has been trying to get me to do this for years. Now is just the right time.

Wishing you nothing but good luck. But I’d check the ego at the door.

Other than organization and time management you will quickly figure out that your real world experience won’t mean much 1L year.

Thanks. I will try to check the ego but that is not me. I am the kind of guy that walks into the room like I have a 9 inch cock (I don’t). That’s just me and part of why I have done fairly well to this point in my career.

That is great and I wish you luck, but how did you get into Loyola Law School with a 2,6 GPA at Southeastern?

Because he's 50 and a "nontraditional" student. Also it's Loyola not Harvard

Can’t wait to see you flourish in your future career. Have you thought of your bus bench ads or billboards yet? You’ll be fighting for the rights of grocery store puddle victims in no time.

You know what they call people that graduate from Loyola? Lawyers. Harvard? Lawyers. Southern? Lawyers. LSU? Lawyers. Assuming you pass the Bar of course.

This is correct. Most of my class were a bunch of idiots that I ran circles around.

I used to tell myself the same lie when I graduated from LSU law. Now I’m surrounded by Harvard lawyers.

Trust me, you will not be on equal footing with them.

My plan is to build on where I have already been for the last 25 years. Healthcare regulatory issues and compliance, corporate law, and in house counsel duties for my current company with long term objectives of helping manage my bosses family trust.
