On the Kennedy, the captain had us doing high-speed runs, and all the toilets on the back of the ship overflowed. That's how we found out the gasket on the escape hatch above our living quarters had a severe leak.

I did a cruise on the Kennedy. The boondocker incident was on the George Washington, if I remember correctly.

I bare boat chartered a 55 foot boat in the virgin islands in 2001 and the charter company informed during checkout that the toilet piping was set up to discharge to sea, should be no problem unless coast guard boarded. They did board, wrote a ticket, and closed the discharge valve without telling me where. Three days later at return boat smelled, and charter company said they would take care of ticket.

Warm water and soap can do wonders for a clogged toilet.

good to hear from you. haven't seen much of your posts lately. My note really was the news media making much a dew about nothing .

I was n the USS America. The never experienced plumbing problems while aboard but you bet your last dollar I never entered any head without shower shoes. My first time on the ship I dropped my washcloth while showering, got out, dressed, and went buy a new one at the ship store. Learned a valuable lesson, always have backups ready.

Did my first deployment on the America. Shower shoes were a requirement on all boats.
