One of our nurses who is a diehard lib was telling me that the talking point on Redditt is that this is a fake AI video - these people are degenerates and refuse to face the truth.

Of course it's fake AI. The only outfit validating it is the far-right wing BBC doncha know.
Never trust a far-right wing nazi loving organization like the BBC.

Nearly 2,000 products have been recalled due to the presence of rodent and bird contamination.
Gold Star Distribution, Inc. has recalled thousands of food items, pet foods, beauty products and drugs distributed to three states, according to a notice shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall, which was initially released on Dec. 26, was prompted after the FDA determined that the Minneapolis-based facility was operating under “insanitary conditions, including the presence of rodent excreta, rodent urine, and bird droppings.” This means that the affected products may have been in contact with surfaces with airborne particles of animal waste. Exposure to these contaminated products could cause illness like salmonella or leptospirosis, a bacterial disease from exposure to animal urine.
The FDA gave the recall a Class II classification on Jan. 22, meaning that use of the product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” per the organization’s site.
… Affected products were distributed to stores in Indiana, Minnesota and North Dakota. A specific list of retailers can be found on the FDA’s website
… Candies like Jolly Ranchers, Skittles and Sour Patch Kids were affected, along with other snacks like Pringles and Takis, were affected. Breakfast items were affected too, with boxes of Cheerios and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal among a long list of recalled cereals. A range of drinks including Gatorade, Coca-Cola, Smart Water and Arizona Iced Teas are recalled as well. Even pantry staples, including Heinz Ketchup, Crisco Oil and cinnamon sticks, were affected by the recall.
Pepto Bismol, Axe body spray, Q-Tip cotton swabs, Fancy Feast cat food and Gillette razors are just a few of the other types of affected items.

Stop buying Minnesota products. Remove all federal funding and all of this goes away quickly.

No, it wasn't.
It was less than a second, per WSJ frame by frame analysis.
If you other documented sources, I'd like to see it.
look, i'm not saying it was like 5 seconds or anything like that... i just don't think it was under a second...

honestly, i feel this way about both sides... truth is whatever is convenient for them at the moment... Republicans, Democrats... two sides of the exact same fricking coin...

It only matters because we can make it political. Shootings like this happen more frequently than many like to admit.
As a person, I probably wouldn't like Pretti. Does that really matter? Nope. I do not believe his shooting was justified.
Was it deserved? As I have said before, we all get what we deserve whether we like it or not. Deserved is based on our actions. Pretti played a very dangerous game. We know that volatile interactions with LEOs increase risk of a fatality. This risk increases exponetially with every volatile interaction the individual has. Pretti had more than one in a single week's time, that we know of. The risk level caught up to him. Pretti was not Daniel Shaver and the circumstances are much different. I do feel a bit sorry for Mr Pretti. I would feel more if he did not actively look for confrontation with LEOs. My feelings have zero to do with any political leanings he may or may not have had.
Still, the shooting was not justified.
agree, with almost all of this....

I'd rather be correct than "right".
Empirical evidence proves it was than a second.
Whererver you stand on the matter, that is just a fact.

things you and I are correct on... he never had the gun in his hands, he was beat in the head with a canister of pepper spray while being detained by at least 2 other agents, they disarmed him (again never had the gun in his hands), and then shot him 10 times, with an very audible pause between the 4th and 5th shots... being we are using empirical evidence and we want to be correct and not "right"

You have to put the "I think" or " I feel" part aside...
It is, in total, a 31 second video, and we all have the benefit of hindsight.
This place was a powderkeg, and he kept pushing, and initiated the confrontation.
Expecting anyone to make an absolute correct decision in milliseconds is pretty optimistic, given those circumstances, so why seek it out?
I belabored the point b/c a lot of people were saying " he was disarmed!11!".
In the scheme of things, did it really matter?

did he? b/c from the video, it sure like he was pushed back off the street onto the sidewalk, before the main video where he is shot...

b/c we should hold LEOs to a certain standard above common criminals? that's a crazy idea to you?

did it really matter?
you serious? are you really asking whether it matters if LEOs shot an unarmed man?
Posted on 1/29/26 at 10:04 pm to chRxis
Of course, LEOs are expected to be trained and held to a higher standard.
Is it "crazy" to expect them to correctly respond perfectly in milliseconds? Is that the standard you expect? That might be "crazy".

yet, we are lowering that threshold, in this case... and a lot of these guys are not career LEOs and had a total of 6 weeks of training... i agree they've been put in an impossible situation, but that speaks more about the administration that put them there than it does them...
quote:
Is it "crazy" to expect them to correctly respond
their response was fricked up from the beginning... raging out and pushing the woman down? yeah, i don't expect my LEO's to assault a woman who posed no imminent threat... beating the shite out of a guy who's being detained by 2 other officers? yeah, i expect better than that... shooting a guy 6 more times after it was pretty clear he was fully incapacitated after the 1st 4 shots? yeah, that's pretty excessive, in my book...
look, it's clear we don't agree with the circumstances... but i do wonder, if this video would have been from a confrontation between a protestor and LEOs in, say, Brazil, or Turkey, or some other foreign country, and the events play out the exact same way, where there's no political lens to view it from, i wonder how many people would still be advocating that the response was totally warranted, or would it be viewed differently then?

Do you conviently ignore the fact that the last administration all but neutered the agency? Biden had 4 years to get em trained.
