All cities are on the rise in a general sense. The population has been moving out of rural areas and into the urban areas for a steady 10- 20 years

This, whether people want to admit it or not. People moved out to the suburbs because of unsafe cities and better schools. However today, many big cities are as safer now than they've ever been and many have decent school options if you live in the right places. Yes, they are really expensive, but more and more people are willing to pay more for housing to live closer to their jobs and all the other stuff you can do in major metro areas.

Crystal City, VA about to blow up thanks to Bezos

Crystal City is really just a neighborhood in Arlington. But agreed, DC in general is booming

Suburbs are booming like they have been for 50 years

How is NWA?

Good restaurants? Entertainment? I know it offers outdoors opportunities and stable economy. But what else

It offers nothing. High violent crime, druggies on every corner, tons of cultcha. Stay away.

I like the Fayetteville area. I wouldn't mind living around there. I'm not really a big city guy.

Yep screw that crap. Seattle had lines 40 deep in grocery stores because of a snow forecast. I have no desire to live among the rats in a cage

Cities on the rise doesn’t mean biggest. Texas cities will grow the fastest no doubt but will be blue and the biggest sheet holes in 50 years resembling Mexico City.

I lived in NYC for a little over a year. It was fun at 22 but that doesn't appeal to me at all at 41. It got old after about 8 months to me at that age.

I feel the most at home in places like Bozeman or Asheville. Enough modern conveniences but not a ton of people and I can be in the middle of nowhere in 30 minutes.

If you notice an uptick in the muzzle community or Mexican you can bet your arse you are on the rise.

One of my favorite songs addresses this, how youth are drawn to the cities, but we get burned out and start looking for our peace and contentment when we get older

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory
Of lighted streets on quiet nights

Construction jobs. Once all the mega projects are done you won’t have the same level of employment at the sites, and all the construction workers will move on to the next project.

A lot of the California transplants moving to Texas are red.

The North Dallas suburbs that are exploding are red, made up of 62% white, 66% have a Bachelor's degree, 25% have a graduate level or above degree, average home price is $370K and has a household income over double the national average.... yet you think they will magically become shitholes like in Mexico.

Charleston keeps rolling in awards as the best city to travel to in the nation, best overall city etc...

As a native, it’s been incredible to watch how much this city has changed the last 30 years. Mt Pleasant had almost 25% growth rate between 2010-2017.

Also helps that Boeing, Volvo, and Google etc have set up shop here. The port is also being dredged to 52 feet which will make it the deepest port on the East Cost, only addding to the amount of cargo and RORO in and out of what is already the second busiest container port on the East Coast.

At some point though, the city needs to focus on the damn locals and not the tourists

aka, top 15 cities Centinel will try to stay far, far away from.

Like fallguy said, living in a big city is great when you're young and single. I did it, enjoyed it, but now that I'm married and over 40, the crush of humanity just annoys the ever living shite out of me.

I'll take a nice cabin in the middle of 300 acres please.
