You went from a 911, to a Vette, to a Jag Sadan? What gives?

ETA: Sadan is what I meant. Nothing wrong with a Jag.

My Electra Glide's windshield is held on my three screws. Changing out windshields can be done in a matter of a couple minutes. That's why I'm thinking of getting a low profile tinted one for summer and keep my full windshield for wet or cold days.

2006 350Z w/ a built built motor and twin turbo setup (722 whp).

Barely ever drive the Z, but its paid for and only has 35k miles on the car itself so i can't bring myself to get rid of it.

Right now I've got the Vette and the Stang that I bought for my kid when he gets his license (still on his permit because someone almost dies every time he drives ). I sit home all day every day since I'm retired, so I don't need a third car (wife can take the Vette to work). We travel a lot for my kid's tournaments, and the plan was to use the Mustang. We quickly figured out that it royally sucks to take long trips in a loaded-down Mustang. I'm sacrificing the Vette for family car. And the Jag even has goddamn massagers in the front seats, which my bad back will love on long trips. In a couple years when the kid moves on to college and I need a third car, I'll get another car I can put on the track for myself.

...we actually just started looking at the Jag on a whim, because I wasn't keen on ditching the Vette. While at a tournament over the holidays in Hilton Head, we saw a Jag dealer and test drove an XJL Portfolio to kill some time. We fell in love with it. I checked out everything else online and it's surprising how much more luxurious the Jag is compared to its competitors. The A7, 7-series, and E-class cars in its price range look downright Spartan compared to the Jag, and the Jag matches or beats them all in performance (340 hp). And the long wheelbase model I'm getting is damn near a limo in legroom. Panoramic roof, electric sunblinds, seat massagers, rear seats heated and ventilated, 20-speaker stereo..it really blows away everything in its class. And the interior color choices are much better looking than the other cars.

Nice.

Hope you can enjoy it and get back to something for track use in a few years. You had an inaugural 5th gen camaro SS ls3 a few years back as well didn't you? Or am I thinking of someone else.

I got rid of the Fatboy and picked up an 06 Super Glide Custom for short putts and I hate to ruin it's looks with a windshield but I'm gonna do it until I find another touring bike.

Calloway is telling me that they are about to start taking order on the C21 Corvette Stingray AeroWagon. I'm seriously considering it. It's their Chevrolet Authorized shooting break conversion kit.

Yep. When we saw the first Transformers movie, me and my kid were like "We MUST get one of those when they come out!" Had one the first year they came out, and I think it was only one of around 550 manual transmission 2SS Transformer Edition cars. It was amazing that first year, because every little kid who saw it in a parking lot just stared at it in amazement like it was the "real" Bumblebee."
I really wanted to keep it and pass it on to my kid, but the wife didn't want him to have the big V-8 so I traded it on the 911. And then a couple years later we ended up getting the kid a Mustang GT anyway. I liked that Camaro a lot more than the Mustang, and it just felt faster to me (though it could just be because it was a manual).

I'm really going to miss doing track days in the Vette - it was just a BEAST on the track and much more fun than the 911 was. However, I can still use my kid's GT for the track and really want to do some of the exotic car track days at NOLA. I believe it's a permanent fixture at NOLA starting this year, whereas they used to just come a few times a year. And they are always running specials around the holidays so it's not too expensive. Anyone that's interested in running a Lambo or Ferrari on the track, for Valentine's day they usually have some good specials running.

How does the back seat room compare on a 911 vs the Mustang vs the Camaro?

I've been really looking at the 911's for a daily driver, but I need the kids to fit in the back.

Ultra Classic Electra Glide. It's the only way to go. Get you one and you'll thank me later.
