I feel like they have a mental illness or a complete absence of reality. Cross dressing is bad enough but choosing to change sex because you feel differently inside is absurd. In 2015 it's all about shock value now.

Don't know enough to form an opinion, but imagine there's more than one factor that comes into play. To each his/her own.

The LGBT community is a group of factions. While they don't hate each other, they are pretty cliquey and transgenders are often outcasts even in those communities.

Let them do what they want to do.
You can tell guys at 6 years old who have major female genes. If they do a sex change, people give them a hard time; if they pursue being gay, people give them a hard time.

Why should you judge these people? Let them be happy. It is not a choice. It's just that there physical appearance doesn't not match their mental and emotional state.

Transgenderism is a mental illness that needs to be called as exactly what it is.
The perpetuation of it needs to be discouraged like the state tries to discourage smoking.

It's a mental disorder and should be treated as such -- and children certainly shouldn't be encouraged.
However, no one can control your body. If you choose to have your dick lopped off and silicon put in your chest, that's your choice.

Don't care at all and hope they live their lives however they see fit. Same with gays and lesbians, I have no problem with either since it doesn't affect me. They should be allowed to be as miserable as us straight folks. Same with polygamy, if your dumb arse is stupid enough to want to marry more than one woman more power to ya.

I honestly spend very little time thinking about them and have very little opinion of them. None of my business really. Golden rule and all that. If I come accross them, which I don't think I have knowingly done so, I'd treat them with some degree of respect and hope they would do the same for me. That's about the extent of how much I've thought into it.

I guess the issue is that situations like this can be used and have been used to take advantage of women. I don't know how much of a reality this is in modern day America, but one can see how young women get married off to an older man without the woman having much say in the matter. If it's all willing then that's fine, but I imagine things might get a little fuzzy. I'm down with avoiding meddling in people's lives as much as possible, but there is a line somehwere that you have to draw. I'm not saying I know for sure where that is.
I guess the side that is saying that trannies are mentally ill might argue that makes tranvestites necessarily "bad" (for lack of a better word right now). I think that in some ways the concept of mental health is too normative than positive for me to have any concrete opinions about that angle.
