First cousins/siblings having children presents a high likelihood for health problems. Gay couples don't have this problem.
If the ability to reproduce successfully was a requirement for marriage, then gay marriage would still be illegal everywhere.

How do think New York's gonna like having to honor our backwards arse marriages?
Is this supposed to be a gotcha? I doubt anyone in NY cares if you are marrying your first cousin.

Not to mention the whole birth defects thing is a complete farce. There's really no logical reason relatives shouldn't be able to marry. It's just taboo, as gay marriage once was.

Wrong. Are you from alabama?

This is why the government shouldn't be in the marriage business. It has no business regulating personal relationships.
What they should do is allow you to sign a contract that will unite two legal adults for property/financial/benefits/parental rights/etc reasons. Doesn't give a damn who those two people are as far as relationship to each other or their genders because it isn't about love or sex. This solves the whole polygamy bullshite, you can only pass on your benefits/etc to one other adult.
