It means she's not very confident. Our first measuring stick as we grow is our peer group, by gender. She didn't / doesn't fit in with girls in her peer group. Or, if she does, it's because she's adopted this "thinking like a man" and now can be part of the group because she's the odd one, and every group needs an oddball.
Could be a bad sign. Could be neutral and just an indicator she's very unique and perhaps didn't have a better way to characterize herself.
