This seems like a sign of a poorly run restaurant. This seems to be a recent development.

Burger King is terrible. If there is a metric tied to it, I'm sure corporate knows their gaming the system.

McDonalds has now built parking spots because they know their terrible.

You smell fat.

It happened to me one time at Canes. I, being a dumbass, pulled up so that I could watch them give chicken tenders to about five cars behind me before they finally got around to getting to me.

I pulled up to Sonic today for a Cherry-Limeade Slush, waited about 10 minutes for it, with hardly any other customers there

At least the chick that brought it out to me was cute

It moves fast but you still feel boxed in by a sea of tahoes bunched up like a Mexico to US border crossing.

I know Canes has a time for each car that starts when you get to the order window. They want it under like 3.5 minutes I think. So if it can’t be done, they will ask you to pull up to make their numbers look good, which are being sent to higher ups.

Also, you’re ordering too much shite

Ordered my food at McDonald’s window the other night at 745. Was asked to park in reserve 2 next to 5 other vehicles. Some ordered through the app which I think is another issue. After waiting 20 minutes and 2 people coming to my window with the wrong order I finally went in to wait another 15 minutes to tell whoever to just give me my money so I can leave. Some one finally gave me a bag after no one else claimed a DD qlber meal. burger was half burnt when I got home and only had ketchup and mustard on it. I have never seen such horrible service at any restaurant ever in my life.

The local Popeyes will ask cars not to pull up to the window all the way because it triggers their wait time monitor. This isn’t to pull up and wait…this is to hold the cars up from getting to the pay window. That actually slowed the line down to maybe one order every 5 -7 minutes and they still couldn’t keep up.

That’s management’s solution to reducing wait times instead of providing better service or hiring better people.

I don’t really go there anymore because I think that management willing to cheat on those metrics are also very likely to skirt around cleanliness and food safety rules. Also the employees seem to actively hate the customers.

Because the picky, special order people were there first. It really is just that simple.

Pretty sure Popeyes claims the patent on that.

It’s actually a way to move people through faster. Whataburger was the first place I experienced it and that was like 1988.

Cause WB has always been slow as molasses.

People who order their Big Mac with no sauce, extra lettuce, add tomatoes, etc. tend to hold up the line and deserve the time out space.

Same time doordash became an option for someone who lives a mile away from Wendy’s and pays $7 to have someone bring them a half melted frosty 30 minutes after they order one.

I had that happen at a Burger King before. I had the family in the car on a road trip. Ordered and then pulled up to the first window to pay. He tried to tell me to wait to pull up, but no one was in line ahead of me. I knew what he was doing, and didn't want any bodily fluids in my food so I waited until a car pulled up behind me. Maybe 30 seconds. Then I started to pull away and go to the second window and the guy is literally hanging out of the window yelling at me not to pull up yet. I get to the second window and the lady there apologizes for him yelling. Said he's new and someone told him to game the system, but she had been there forever and didn't care about their metrics. Its a shame that it even comes to this, but when you're focused more on numbers than actually providing a good product that's where we are.

On the flip side, some places do it right. We stopped at a Wendy's off of I-10 in Florida one time, and just ordered a couple of single combos. By the time we were done paying at the first window, the guy at the second window had his hand out of the window with our bag of food. Pulled up and got that and he had the drinks ready to go as well. Those workers were hustling and getting food out as quickly as they could and keeping the line moving.
