Reed Timmer drives the Dominator into tornados all the time. Any other car probably not advisable.
They used to do it before it was armored. It was just a regular Chevy Tahoe.
That's why they armored it.
He does chase with unarmored cars still because they are faster and easier to maneuver. I think he's got a highly damaged Tahoe and a very busted up Subaru Outback. They've taken hits from hail storms and tree branches, but no direct tornado impacts unless he's an idiot.

How did they know it was safe to get out with all those live wires around them?

These people are simply thrillseekers trying to make a buck off being crazy. There's dozens of youtube channels that do this kind of thing and get hardly no views

I had a friend in Arkansas die after getting trapped in a car during a tornado. Her elderly father somehow survived.
Now I know what her last moments were like.

I don’t know what I’d do in that situation, but I’d never let that guy live that down if we were friends.

Is there an alternate link to this video? The Twitter one won't load for me (or was it removed?).

I thought this was a new one I had missed. I've already added them to my "2023 Rolled by Tornado" list. So far there have been 4, possibly 5 chasers that I have seen who have been rolled.

Reed rarely ever went "into a tornado" without being in the Dominator. He'd be about as close as you can get in the bear's cage, but never in the tornado.

Reed is just better at it than most everyone else and by a considerable margin. When you see him actually on a storm you won't see him watching a radar. It also doesn't hurt that he's well above average on radar, too. He can take a passing glance at a storm and almost immediately know what it is doing and going to do. When one goes deviant it usually isn't a surprise to him, and he has accounted for it with an escape route. In addition to having a seemingly sixth sense understanding the nature of a particular storm it has become second nature to him.
The problem, evidenced by this and multiple other videos out there, is that much less experienced people try to do what Reed does, and this is what happens.

Chasing it looks like they caught one.
I had a bunch of storm chasers parked north in front of my place once. I thought good they are on the back side of it. They take off fast and leave then my phone alerted me to take shelter. I saw my cattle running to my large barn for cover as I headed for the cellar.
When I came out of the cellar my cows were standing where the large barn used to be.
Had another barn 15 feet north of the one taken in the storm that didnt get a scratch. The barn the cattle found shelter in was scattered over a half mile east. No cattle injured the Lord watched over us that day.
