I hope to be in your spot in the future. My next move is to find a new job in this city and move relatively close to it (10-15 miles), depending on the location obviously. A short commute is better than no commute, a chance to unwind and listen to sports talk radio and just see the rest of the world is underrated. I feel like that sounds stupid to say but just logging out and going sit on the couch sucks. It’s missing something.
I turn off all my lights except my lamps and go for a walk after work. Then, when I return home, it finally feels like I’m ‘home from work’ and I can relax. I don’t feel like that until I come back from my walk. I eat, shower, put on comfortable sweats, and relax. I don’t care if that sounds stupid, it works for me.

Baws aren't allowed in offices.

People here will laugh but I’ve been in corporate all my career until recently.
Sam’s Van Huessen dress pants for $15 is the best overall buy. Cheap and wrinkle free. They last.

Also, I found those recently. I’ve been paying $200 a pair for tailored trousers for most of my career. Those Sam’s brands aren’t bad if you can make them work.

By “office” I don’t think the OP meant the head office for Journeys
I'm an IT guy at one of the Health Science Centers downtown. Business casual is all that's required. What I'd really hate to have to do is dress up like a corporate guy on a $40k a year salary. I make more than that and have the benefit of dressing how I want pretty much. Haters gonna hate.

Fortune 100; I’ve worked in both HR and now IT. On both sides I wore Jeans or Khaki’s and whatever shirts were clean whether that was a short sleeve polo or button down.
Honestly, no one really gives a shite what you wear as long as it’s relatively within whatever guidelines your company has and you can actually do the work you were hired to do.
Edit: Jeans were usually just cheap Wranglers, khakis my wife usually picks up from Target or American Eagle (que the laughs...). We can easily afford new clothes, but we live in a pretty OT Baller area and I’m not ashamed to say our Goodwill has tons of nice shite that the rich folk around us throw out barely worn. I get a lot of pants and shirts from there. Old Metairie has (or at least had) a similar Goodwill we used to frequent when visiting family.

Why the hell not???
I wear them instead of t-shirts most of thr time. Just trying to dress nicer at the new job. I don't want to be the guy who makes it obvious he came up from his tools

Polo’s? What you going into, outside sales? Slacks and a nice button up. Being in construction, alot of times I’m in button up, jacket, nice jeans and boots.
Dress for the job you want.

Brooks brothers. All their dress shirts fit amazingly well and have everything else to oook like a gentleman (ties, suits, sweaters, jackets, etc.).

Orvis's Ultimate Khakis, which are often on sale as a buy-two deal, and Roundtree and York (Dillards's house brand) oxford shirts. Comfortable, durable, good looking, and reasonably priced.

You probably just haven't talked to other people about who is buying their clothes. I do have clothes that I buy, but my wife likes to shop, I don't, she finds deals, I don't. What does it matter if she buys them vs I do if I like them?
