Go see Frank McLavy.

Just looked this weekend for some at Belk. When did the price of Dockers go up to $50 a pair?
Had some decent quality savane/savante (something like that) that lasted a couple of years that I bought at Sams club for 20 bucks a pair. Looked for some more the other day, and they didn't have any.

I'm a big fan of Combatant Gentleman. Haven't bought slacks from them, but their shirts, suits, coats and ties have all done me well.

trying to get some dress pants for work, i have exhausted the selection of lauren by ralph lauren at steinmart ha. who makes a semi nice pair of pants for a reasonable price? I was thinking i would check out landsend, I love their shirts, but have never tried their pants. any suggestions?
other than jos bank, I am not a fan of their stuff, it falls apart too fast
The Lands' End wool Year Rounders are good. I like them because you can get them unfinished, or hemmed/cuffed in 1/4 inch increments for free.
A few times a year you can get gabardine trousers from Brooks Bros. for ~$100/pr.

Do you need actual slacks, or business casual "chino type" pants. I tend to wear the chino style because I can machine wash and not have to worry about dry cleaning. I really like Bonobos weekday warriors and BB Clark cut. Nordstrom also has an in store name brand that fits well. Looks dressy enough for my office and easy to take care of.

I like the Boss wool trousers. You can get them in Super 120s, but those will run a little more ~$195. Most can be had for about $175. Sure it seems expensive, but a good pair of trousers will last you a long time. I'd say the same for shoes, too. Sure I pay extra for Allen Edmonds, but those shoes will last you decades.
Go for quality. Don't fret too much about price. Buy once, cry once.

HSM makes a good suit. Their plain front pant never quite fit me right, but the quality is very good. HSM pants can typically be had for $100-$125 or so.
