Because certain people keep suing everyone with false claims.

I’ll give you a personal example. Sheriff informed me that my tail lights on my 250 had been stolen out of our gated parking garage (along with two other fords.) I figured it would be under 1500.

$9,600 to replace the lights alone, 90% was cost of parts. The MSRP on my truck was $72k. I called around, price was always in that same ballpark.

The 36 hours after I got my truck back (after a month), the thieves were back, smashing my bed cover again (which I never repaired,) but were unsuccessful because I put $15 security screws from Amazon on there (thread lock doesn’t stop them.) I sold my truck the next day, cause it was just going to keep happening.

Point is, two tail lights clocked in over $9,500.

Likely the same one who pay taxes to run the state hospital that’ll treat the uninsured idiots for free?

We have it anyway.

Be better off if you have a no pay no play system.

Everyone in this thread missing the real problem: insurance model is like cable. Intro prices for two years then they jack you up (without jacking you off) betting you wont shop around so regularly.

So naturally, the answer is to shop around regularly.

Scum lawyers and nothing happens to illegals and poors that are allowed to drive w/o insurance and face No repercussion. WE have to pay to make up for the all of the trash and pay these injury lawyers who are worthless POS.

Are those lights ones that never need replacing life of vehicle under normal circumstances? I can’t imagine anyone would be spending that much to replace lights.

It doesn’t help when our beloved governor vetoes a tort reform bills.

Didn't we just have tort reform? Are they reforming the reforms?

It’s not the bulbs, I mean the entire assembly. Instead of putting blind spot sensors in the bumper like usual, they integrated all that intelligent shite into the light assembly. And secured it with 1/4 bolts. Thieves get access to your tailgate, remove the panel on the inside, which then allows them to drop the locked tailgate. Four nuts later, your lights are gone.

Because people are fricking morons that can't not look at their phone for the time it takes to drive from one place to another.

Exactly. One simple law would fix this overnight. Pass legislation that says if you are not 100% legit to be on the road (license, registration/tag and insured for $100k in liability), you are automatically at fault and cannot sue under any circumstance. And, you lose you license for one year and your car may be sold to settle the other parties claim. Rates would plummet overnight. Will never happen because too many legislators are lawyers.
