Dead skin, water, wiping your arse makes a nasty smelling towel after a few washes

I pride myself on being the most well groomed, cleanest person I know. I have smelled a washcloth after I have used in the shower, and I do not want to use that a second day

Not exactly. When you wipe the water off, you are also wiping off bacteria. There is also microscopic mildew floating around when lands on wet towels and starts growing.
