Any time a lawyer gets involved, the only person that wins is the lawyer. No matter who they represent, they’re on the same team. All to run up billable hours. They suck!
I got a letter a few months ago from a lawyer about some guy claiming all kinds of stuff. Wanted like $450,000. Instead of contacting a lawyer myself, which would have cost 5k up front, I sent the attorney back a smarmy letter that fully explained all the facts and ended it with..you wanna sue me? Get in line. I’m broke and I’m also judgment proof so even if you win, you’ll never collect shite!
Next thing I know, actually months later, attorney says my client will consider this matter closed. You can back them off if you respond
yourself and treat them like the pieces of garbage they are.

You not filing the lawsuit for yourself. You filing it on behalf of someone else who has asked you for your assistance. You might have a policy of declining cases/clients for non-professional, personal or philosophical reasons, but surely you wouldn’t fault another lawyer who simply believes that in this great country, this big beautiful country, every man is entitled to bring his complaint before a duly sworn court of law.
