I dont watch the Oscars. I also don't watch wrestling anymore. If the Oscars were more like wrestling I probably still wouldn't watch it, but it might bring their ratings up.
I don't know where I'm going here, but Will Smith should definitely make an unscheduled appearance in next year's Oscars. Maybe Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy could tag team Will and Jazzy Jeff.

Maybe they should just kill Will Smith and Chris Rock. I agree that is a touch radical, but it solves the problems of what to do, and guarantees that nobody else gets slapped at any future little statue circle jerks.

If he was serious, he would return his Oscar. Other that that, it is likely a publicity stunt.
